Back in 2013, Xiaomi entered the smart TV market. Now, the company is one of most popular brands, especially in the Asian markets and has even registered the highest number of sales in its home country, China, in 2020.
Nearly 8 years after it first entered the market, the Chinese tech giant has seen great success and has become one of the market leaders as well. Earlier today (22nd February 2021), the company announced that last year, its smart TV portfolio achieved the highest number of shipments in China. Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that the popular electronics maker has led the market. The company shared the achievement on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, and even share an image poster.
Furthermore, the MyDrivers report also added that its popular budget unit, Redmi, also saw great success last year. The subsidiary also manufactures smart TVs and arrived fourth on the ranking list. Interestingly, the company also added that it would announcing something new tomorrow (23rd February 2021). Unfortunately, it is unknown at the moment whether the company is aiming to launch a new smart TV or another new device from a different product line. So stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional updates are available.
