Meizu abandoned the European market a long time ago, but it is still very strong in China and still comes up with amazing flagship phones. The latest one is the Meizu 18 Pro, released just a few days ago with incredible specifications. Despite this phone will only be sold in China, it has nothing to envy to the flagship from the most important Chinese brands in the global market, including the Xiaomi Mi 11. But does it make sense to choose it instead of such a famous device? This specs comparison between Xiaomi Mi 11 and Meizu 18 Pro will clear your ideas.

Design
Xiaomi Mi 11 and Meizu 18 Pro offer a stunning design made with premium materials. The former has a higher screen-to-body ratio, while the latter is more compact and lighter. While you get a slightly more impressive look with the Xiaomi Mi 11, the Meizu 18 Pro, unlike its rival, comes with water resistance: it is a waterproof phone and this is a big added value when you evaluate the build quality. On the other hand, the display of the Mi 11 is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, stronger than Gorilla Glass 6 found on the Meizu. If we only consider the aesthetics, I would actually go for the Meizu 18 Pro because it is a waterproof phone.
Display
These phones are equipped with astonishing displays. We are talking about AMOLED panels boasting a Quad HD+ resolution and very high peak brightness. The Xiaomi Mi 11 is actually superior because it is able to show up to one billion colors and it has higher 1500 nits peak brightness. But the Meizu 18 Pro remains one of the best smartphones out there in terms of displays. With both these phones, you get a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader.
Specs & Software
Xiaomi Mi 11 and Meizu 18 Pro are two flagships powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform: the best SoC released by Qualcomm this year. The chipset is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM (LPDDR5) and up to 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1). Given that they have exactly the same hardware department, the software makes the difference. You might like it or not, but the MIUI 12 is actually a more advanced user interface compared to Flyme 9.
Camera
The Meizu 18 Pro is an amazing camera phone and, on paper, it has a better camera setup than Xiaomi Mi 11. It consists of a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, a 32 MP ultrawide sensor, and a TOF 3D camera for better depth info calculation. Unfortunately, with the Xiaomi Mi 11, you do not get a telephoto sensor and the ultrawide camera is an inferior 13 MP sensor. The Meizu 18 Pro wins even when it comes to selfies thanks to its 44 MP front camera.
Battery
The difference between the battery capacities of these two handsets is not big: Xiaomi Mi 11 has a 4600 mAh battery and Meizu 18 Pro offers 4500 mAh despite its overall dimensions are smaller. There should be only marginal differences between the battery life of these flagships. But with the Xiaomi Mi 11, you get slightly higher charging speeds, thanks to a power of 50W for both wired charging and wireless charging.
Price
The base variant of the Xiaomi Mi 11 is priced at about €518/$614 in China, while you need €640/$759 to purchase the base variant of the Meizu 18 Pro. There is not a definitive winner of this comparison as it depends on your actual needs. The Meizu 18 Pro has better cameras and (unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11) it is a waterproof phone, while Xiaomi Mi 11 offers a better software experience, a slightly better display, and faster charging speeds. Which one would you pick?
