Xiaomi is hosting an event tomorrow in its home country where Lei Jun, CEO and Chairman of the Xiaomi Group will address the public. The event will also mark the launch of Mi 10 Ultra Commemorative Edition and Redmi K30 Ultra Commemorative Edition.
Now, Lei Jun has confirmed through a Weibo post that the upcoming Redmi K30 Ultra Commemorative Edition is based on the company’s K30 Pro smartphone, with some newly added features to offer “100% full flagship experience.”
Lu Weibing, General Manager of the Redmi brand and Chairman of Xiaomi China had previously said that the Redmi K30 Ultra Commemorative Edition represeLi Junnts what the Redmi brand set out to do. He is also confident about the phone’s configuration being top-of-the-line for the youth.
Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has already been leaked through TENAA. The leaked images show that the phone will reportedly feature a quad-camera setup on the back, where sensors will be placed on an Oreo-designed camera module.
It is expected to come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. However, the chipset of the device is not yet known but given that the company says “full flagship experience”, we are expecting either SD865 or SD865+ SoC.
However, there are reports that the phone may come powered by a MediaTek processor. The phone comes in three variants — 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 8GB RAM + 512GB Storage.
