Vivo Y70s could be first Exynos 880 5G powered phone; Geekbench listing spotted


Vivo has a new Y-series waiting to go official. A Chinese tipster has revealed that a Vivo phone that has a model number of V2002 will be debuting in China as Vivo Y70s. What’s interesting about the smartphone is that it could be launching as the first smartphone powered by the upcoming Exynos 880 5G chipset.

Exynos 880 processor details

Samsung is yet to announce the Exynos 880 5G chipset. However, the tipster has revealed that the SoC has two cores of Cortex working at 2.0GHz and six cores of Cortex A55 clocking at 1.79 GHz. For graphics, the SoC has Mali-G76 GPU. The tipster claims that the performance of the Exynos 880 could be like the Snapdragon 765G SoC. The SoC seems to be weaker than the Exynos 980 5G that fuels the likes of Vivo X30, X30 Pro, and Vivo S6.

Recently, the Vivo V2002 smartphone received approval from the 3C regulatory body of China. The 3C listing revealed that the phone may ship with an 18W fast charger

. A variant of the same phone with model number V2002A has been benchmarked on Geekbench 5.

The V2002A Geekbench listing has revealed that it is fueled by the unannounced Exynos 880 chipset that has a base frequency of 1.79 GHz The SoC is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The handset is loaded with Android 10. In the single-core test, it recorded a score of 641 and it scored 1814 in the multi-core test. The other specifications of the smartphone are currently under wraps.


In related news, Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is gearing up to launch the iQOO Z1 on May 19. It will come with specs like Dimensity 1000+, 144Hz LCD display, 44W fast charging, and side-facing fingerprint reader.
