In June, vivo launched vivo X50 Pro+ (Plus) as its flagship smartphone of 2020. Ahead of its sale in July, the company teased a limited edition in collaboration with fashion designer Alexander Wang. Now, after two months, the company announces this product officially.
Earlier in March, vivo launched “vivo X30 Pro alexanderwang Limited Edition”. So this is the second handset from the company in association with the American fashion designer.
The device is officially marketed as “vivo X50 Pro+ alexanderwang Limited Edition”. It comes in a single 12GB + 2565GB storage configuration priced at 5,998 yuan ($877). It is currently up for pre-order in China. It is scheduled to go on sale on September 17 at 12 AM. According to the company, only 1,000 units will be up for grabs.
Apart from the black-gray rear glass panel with the trademark of Alexander Wang in gradient and a dedicated theme, the limited edition is identical to the regular X50 Pro+ (Plus) in all ways possible.
Since vivo did not launch X50 Pro+ in international markets, we don’t think the limited edition will be made available in global markets. Hence, all those 1,000 units could be limited to China even though the company mentions “worldwide” in a Weibo post.
