MediaTek’s spanking new Helio M80 modem has mmWave support

MediaTek has played a significant role in the wide adoption of 5G smartphones thanks to its Dimensity line of 5G mobile processors. Last week, it announced the Helio M80, its first modem with support for mmWave, the high frequency 5G spectrum which is faster but has a shorter range. This means we should see new chipsets with support for both mmWave and Sub-6GHz networks from the chipset manufacturer in the near future.
