TCL, which is one of the biggest companies in the Smart TVs market, has announced at CES 2021 that the company will launch the TCL Google TV series in the United States this year and will soon be rolled out to other regions.

The company adds that they will combine Google’s new entertainment experience, Google TV, with its own display technologies such as Mini-LED, 8K, and QLED. It is aiming to offer users a stunning media consumption experience with better access to content.

This is quite a change for TCL which has so far been using Roku TV as the platform in most of the devices, including the recently launched 6-Series and 8-Series of high-end Smart TVs. However, the company adopted Android TV for some models in the 3-Series and 4-Series in the US last year.

For those who are unaware, Google TV, which was introduced last year along with the Chromecast with Google TV, comes with a revamped user interface that better integrates with the system and makes it easier for the users to find shows and movies from different apps and services.

Currently, the company has not revealed which series of Smart TVs will be getting the option of Google TV and if the previous Android TV models will be eligible for an update. We expect to know more about this from the company in the coming weeks or months.
