Like the company claims, the new Flyme update for Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro indeed brings a number of small changes here and there as per the changelog.

Some of the new features that this OTA update adds to Meizu 17 series are as listed below.

  • Haptic feedback support for third-party applications like WeChat and Alipay
  • Smart screen timeout which extends screen dimming time when a face is detected
  • Optimized multi-tasking view with a new swipe up gesture to exit.
  • Revamped Meizu Pay app
  • New Game Center and various customizations in Game Mode

That said, do you know why Meizu

is calling it an “important update:? Because according to the official changelog, the latest system update for Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro fixes a total of 23 known bugs. This is insane as companies usually fix a small number of issues at a time.

The Meizu 17 series is not available outside China. But if you are using an imported unit or a Chinese citizen using it in another country, make sure to download and install this new Flyme update to get all the benefits.

Last but not least, it is worth noting that last month’s system update for these handsets added support for stabilization while recording videos from all the cameras.
