With pre-orders out of the way and official sales open, early adopters of the Galaxy S21 series have had a few days to play around with the new phones and get familiar with Samsung's latest offerings. The initial excitement around things like performance and display quality is hard to ignore, but throughout daily use, there's one feature that'll matter more than anything — battery life.
The S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra all have good battery capacities across the board, coming in at 4000, 4500, and 5000 mAh, respectively. In real-world use, however, what does that translate to?
A few of our AC forum members are already sharing their early battery impressions, saying:
Coming from the S10 to the regular S21 I am noticing a huge difference in battery life. On the S10 it estimated almost 18hrs of battery life where the S21 is estimating only 10hrs. I notice the difference too. Just from light browsing I can see the battery percentage go down by 1% every other minute or so. Even after 2 years with the S10 my battery would last until 5 or 6pm.
Shouldn't I be…
So far, S21+ battery has been decent. I have been using it a lot the first few days, so I'm hoping it'll get better after everything gets settled down.
So far, Battery life Samsung S21 5G hasn't been too good. I've turned off 5G only using LTE. Battery saver on. So far, average SOT 5hrs 8 min. Charged this am 100% now 8:30pm and I have 39% remaining.
I copied all of my data etc from my Iphone 12. I may do a factory reset amd do a clean installation to see if this improves.
I am using standard screen not the 120 hertz.
I've been getting great battery life so far since 2nd update last week. Even using 120hz at QHD battery has been very good. Yesterday I had 14 hours on battery with 4 hours SOT, 59% left by 5pm. Have had no overheating either although I've got a strange issue whereby my screen dims when I use maps. I don't have auto brightness on either
Now, we want to hear from you — How's your Galaxy S21 battery life so far?
Control Ultimate Edition is a gorgeous technical showcase on PS5, but the DualSense support it was given is pretty minimal. If anything, it's just a taste at what Remedy can pull off in the future.
It's been said that sitting is the new smoking. I don't smoke and I don't intend to make my body feel worse because of sitting. When working from home became my new normal, I wanted a way to be able to move around while still getting work done. The FlexiSpot EN1 adjustable standing desk has the look and features to help accomplish that goal.
MediaTek has launched its first 5G modem to support mmWave technology, offering peak speeds that claim to be faster than Qualcomm's X60 5G modem.
The Galaxy S21 family of devices has finally launched, which means its time to find some of the best accessories. After picking up a case, you're probably going to want to go ahead and snag a screen protector to provide some added protection over what Samsung has pre-installed on the device.
