It’s been a few months since Honor separated from its parent company Huawei and has now gone independent. Since then, the company has not yet launched a flagship smartphone but that could be changed soon.
If the latest report coming from China is to be believed, then the Honor brand is expected to launch its flagship smartphone in July this year. It’s likely that the device will be a part of the Honor Magic lineup.
The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset but apart from that, nothing is known about this device. As the launch is just a few months away, we expect to know more about it in the coming weeks or months.
Since Honor is now an independent brand, the company can easily source required components from vendors which were not possible under Huawei because of the sanctions imposed by the United States due to the on-going US-China trade war.
In fact, Honor is already in talks with companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek to reach a deal for chipsets to power the brand’s upcoming devices. The company is also in talks with Google to get GMS supportHonor is also expanding its footprints, starting with its own Honor Mall online store and new offline stores.
