However, the last quarter seems to have faired better for Chinese manufacturers as a report says phone shipments increased. Xiaomi Mi 10T figure> The info comes from Digitimes Research Advertisement , and according to their findings, Chinese smartphone vendors saw their global shipments rise to 182 million, an increase of 10.6% from the previous quarter but a 5.6% drop when compared to the same quarter in 2019. Unfortunately, Huawei wasn’t among those who recorded growth in shipment. The Chinese giant recorded a 25.5% decline in overall shipment in the third quarter of the year unlike its rivals – Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo that recorded an increase. Nevertheless, all four companies accounted for 74.3% of the total shipment recorded, though the report revealed that the figure is less than that of Q3 2019. It is believed that Chinese manufacturers will account for about 50% of the total global shipment in the last quarter of the year but the figure should be less than that of Q4 2019 as the market is recovering slowly. Digitimes speculates that Huawei may get dethroned as its rivals continue to increase their global shipments.
