The HUAWEI Mate40 series is expected to be the last smartphones from the company to be powered by its in-house HiSilcion chipset until the US ban lifts. This chip is reported to be manufactured by TSMC’s 5nm node process. Other than the powerful silicon, the forthcoming flagship devices from the Chinese tech giant are also said to bring other high-end features. One of them could be 66W fast charging as hinted in a new EMUI 11 promo video.
Huawei also released a number of promo videos for EMUI 11. One of those videos showcased the new charging animation with”Max 66W” text. Currently, none of the HUAWEIHONOR smartphones/tablets supports it. So it should mostly debut on the forthcoming HUAWEI Mate40 series.
Unfortunately, we could not find this video anywhere on Weibo. Maybe, the company took it down. The above picture is a screengrab from the said video and it was shared by 数码闲聊站 (Digital Chat Station).
A 66W Huawei charger was already spotted at China’s 3C certification bureau in early July. This could be the charger that may come bundled with the Mate40 series.
